How not to lose your car in a parking lot

The important thing to know about this semi-camo car is that the gold flecks are very shiny.

On the way to the bike shop at lunchtime, I took this weird little tunnel detour:

The web site for the World Naked Bike Ride has lots of details. They describe it as grown-up, very respectful, party time; as bare as you dare!
Yeah, I won’t be there.

On the way home tonight, I wandered around this public art storage area.

“Festive” is not a word you think of about Jersey barriers.

On the way home tonight, I saw this gentleman reworking a dozen Jerzey barriers into works of contemporary art.

This is what happens when railroad freight car graffiti develops its own intelligence.

When I was last here a few weeks ago, a group of schoolchildren were fixing-up this decades old mural. I still wish I got a picture then. The mural is signed “LaCasse et al” and dated 1980, 1995, and 2017.

Back in the late 1960s in Massachusetts there were plans for miles and miles of new highways, many of which were eventually stopped by citizens who were unhappy to see their cities plowed-under so that cars could go faster.

The (cancelled) Inner Belt Highway would’ve totally screwed up the neighborhoods of Somerville, Cambridge, and Boston. One of its ramps would’ve been where this MicroCenter store now stands, just before crossing the Charles River.

This car’s impressive! Even with the ribbed surface, the circus-style lettering is perfect.

A campus (and a school) designed to make you jealous that you didn’t go there.

Not surprisingly, the College of the Atlantic is a much nicer campus than the state university where I got my degrees, or the Ivy League college where I work.
